Description

Faray and Holm of Faray Faray and Holm of Faray are two small uninhabited islands which lie between Westray and Eday. They are notified for grey seals Halichoerus grypus. The site is one of the most important breeding and haul out sites for grey seals in Orkney. In 2006, an estimated 3148 pups were produced, equivalent to around 16% of the annual pup production for Orkney, and 7% of the total annual pup production for Britain.
